We love our word bubbles. They show up on paintings and drawings, coming from clouds, suns, animals and people. I'm hoping I can get it out of their system by limiting bubbles to their journals and keeping their art work a "no word bubble zone." Unless we are making comics of course!

My Not So Smart Board
I don't have a smart board but I have a smart idea (I think)! I'm having so much fun with iComic that I'm feeling guilty that my students can't try it too. Ideally, the kids would drag images into iComic on a Smart Board and type in the word bubbles key ideas from the lesson. But what if. . . I print out the images in a comic format with BLANK word bubbles. Then as part of their journal writing (which we do 5 minutes of each class) they fill in the word bubbles with whatever we are learning about. I can even project iComic from my computer and show them how the program works. We can collaborate on what we should include in the word bubbles with the program, my projector and my laptop. So excited to try it during my next unit on MASKS!

LOVE IT! Your kind of a 'SMARTteacher'! Way to go! Thinking out side of the comic strip! Very nice!
totally brill! I had no idea I even had iComic! I'm about to dive into masks too. Soo complex that organizing the info in an inviting format would be super effective. Will definitely credit you if I use it!
Just posted you on my blog:D
Thanks! Sora I'm glad you found it! My husband found it too. It was in my regular application menu. I am loving this too:)
I have a mac, but I don't think I have iComic? I did a search. Maybe I missed something along the way, however, I love this idea! Thanks, dear! Hope you are holding up well- Thinking of you and baby baby baby!
