EASY PROJECT you can do tomorrow: Line Spiders

Here's an easy project that teaches two dimensional and 3 dimensional line.

My first graders made these 3D spiders in a 2D web. First graders have been learning to identify and create lines in art zig zag, straight, vertical, diagonal, and horizontal etc. This project was a fun way to practice creating three dimensional lines as well. It took an hour and some were struggling to finish in time! But the supplies and concepts are really simple. I can see it taking a 1/2 hour with a more advanced group or an older group.

Supplies You Will Need:
Black Paper
White Crayons
(I also cut the black paper in strips for the legs, and cut squares for the body which they cut into circles.)

Here are our results, I don't think I need to post an explanation *it's pretty self explanatory* but leave a comment if you have any questions or ideas!

Here's MY baby playing in my classroom as I clean up, make phone calls,  fill glue, make lesson plans.
She's amazing.

Mommy's little helper! I remember that time of life, when my baby helped in my room too. Sigh.... Now I'm lucky to see him a few times a year.

But anyhow - good quickie lesson! Glue on some red eyeballs for impact!

Hi Phyl! I know it is going so fast and I can feel it slipping through my fingers. It's the brevity of everything that makes me treasure time all the more now. Each stage is something new, as with your son and your new business, and studio. . . enjoy it all.
