LOST AND FOUND!

I finally found the link to Phyl's FLIP FLOP project (click to check it out) and there she shares a link to Kids Artists Funky Slippers Project.

I am so relieved! Blogger is making my mind feel like our lost and found. . . ideas keep piling up and the box keeps on getting more full until it overflows, finally when I pick something out of the box I have no idea where it came from. I have to go on guesses. . . it's a bigger size so it must be from grade 5. . . and then try to back track and find the source.

There must be an easier way!

Do you keep track of your ideas and how?

AND HERE'S A STELLA UPDATE! I am one of those people who show off pictures of my baby to anyone with a pair of eyes.

THE DAY after school let out I started sleeping through the night!
I just missed my mom before.

Bigger comment later about keeping track of ideas - meanwhile Stella is ADORABLE.

Check back on my last blog post and see a photo of the bridge where Ben's bungee took place. Yikes. Plus I added a comment about it.

So cute. Awesome that she is sleeping through the night!

If I follow someone on my google reader, I star the items that I plan to use. Or favorite on flickr. Not only can I find the lesson, but I can give credit if I blog about it. I also joined pinterest, hoping I can keep my ideas for quilting and teaching all in one place and more organized than some on blogger, some on flickr. I haven't really figured it out yet, though.

When I save a picture of an idea I see on a blog, I add "by Art Proj Girl" or what ever the name of the blog. Then if I need to refer back I can search the correct blog site. After I get several ideas from the same blog I can file them by blog or by subject in my picture files. If I want I can even make files in files. I can copy and move pictures to all sorts of places.
Anyway it works for me. Good luck,
and give Stella a big hug! :)

OH MY I just love her checks. How many times a day to you find yourself kissing her! She looks like my Elena. She is 4 and still has the kissable cheeks! I am always up to see beautiful babies! :) Oh by the way, we do the wave at the end of the year too. Infact the school buses leave and circle right back. It is fun hearing all the kids screaming and the bus horns honking!

How cute is Stella?!! Such a doll! Sounds like you have a busy and fun summer ahead. Enjoy!

Angie says she stars items - how do you do that? It sounds great but I don't have a clue.

I usually print out stuff I want to use and keep the website on the printout. I punch holes in the printouts and keep them in a binder - I have way too much stuff in the binder though, and I guess it's not exactly the most technologically efficient way to save ideas in this day and age! Looking at the rest of Angie's comment, I'm pretty incompetent with flickr too, so I have to figure that all out.

Angie: Thanks, I just started looking through google reader. . . didn't even know I had it and found the star option. I love that! I just don't like the look of the google reader . . . it's a little unflattering to the blogs! But I will start using it more and see if I catch on to it. Thanks that seems like something workable:)
Kszwahl. . . I have been saving some pictures of your guys' projects so I can make lesson plans about them. . . I always include a pic with lesson plans. It wouldn't be to hard to include the blog in the title I save.

I want to see Elena! She sounds adorable. . . love your gardening. I thought the buses circled back this year at our school too! I could've sworn I saw the same kids twice but it was rainy and my vision was blurred with tears. I LOVE looking at your gardening. I want to get more ideas maybe from your blogroll too for my project tomorrow. I am going to try to dig some holes tomorrow and lay out my plant idea. Then sleep on it and make final decisions by Saturday. I have a lot of perenials and I want to make the right layout!

Mary enjoy your summer too! I hope you are taking lots of time for yourself :)

Stella is absolutely beautiful! What a doll!

When I find an idea I like, I print it immediately and put it into a binder. (I have 5-6 binders with differing themes.) When I need an idea, I just pull a binder and go through it.

Okay, I had to google "google reader" when I did I clicked on it and there were all of the blogs I follow! Then on the left of the blog title there was a star! VOILA!

Janie I wish I was so organized and I need to order ink! I run out of ink like crazy. . . this summer getting a new printer!

I have recently found the answer to this problem.
http://pinterest.com/
You can create online pinup boards of ideas! Best thing ever - and very addictive!

That looks cool! I think it's right up my alley!

This may sound a little weird, but I've been using my blog to store ideas that I know I'll use soon. It download whatever photo and save whatever links that are relevant. I can add notes if I need to and save the whole thing as a draft.
I also have a desktop photo file of inspiring images. But will probably shift over to a site like pinterest soon.

Here's another way, too, although I haven't tried it yet...

http://livebinders.com/

You can create binders of info and store them on the net.
There are a couple of public binders up in the art category that are worth checking out.

Stella is so cute I just want to pinch those rosy little cheeks! You have a beautiful daughter! And
Phyl, I'm with you, this new way to save files is a mystery to me! Ha! I just print them out like some of you folks and forget which blog I found them on. I will try never to post projects that I cannot give the proper attribution to although I really wouldn't care if someone used one of mine and didn't.

Ok. I'm pretty sure that pinterest is the way to go. Way easier to see than having to search back through my google reader. I've been exploring a little bit. LOVE!

Unknown said...

Yes! I tried both too. Only problem is pinterest has not "accepted me yet" or whatever so I can only browse as a guest. Maybe on Monday? How long did it take you to get accepted. . . Pinterest you're giving me a complex. . . I'm so not cool.

Unknown said...

Thanks Pat! She is too much, Stella Blue! It's hard not to eat her cheeks. Pinterest is really great. . . once they accept me into their "club"

Anne Farrell said...

Yes, it doesn't take long for them to accept you.
You can find others you know through their email or Facebook and follow each others boards. We could start a new following! :)
