Texture Lions
Kindergarten and First Graders used their paintbrushes in three ways to create these texture lions. First we dabbed to create the soft fur of the face. Then we brushed to create the silky texture of the main and finally some students used the back of their paint brush to scrape in texture to their paint.
We have been talking about how TEXTURE is how something feels to touch. After looking at this Rembrandt drawing, we imagined how the lion would feel. Finally, next class we added a paper mane to the painted lions. Curling, bending, and folding the paper to create even more. . . yes you guessed it. . . TEXTURES!
These are so cute! Great lesson! :)
